Description:The DSC WS4904P Wireless PIR Motion Detector with Pet Immunity is designed to sense changes in passive infrared (PIR) energy. These changes indicate the presence of motion. The device operates at 433 MHz, making it compatible with any DSC Impassa and any DSC PowerSeries Alarm System. The device is appropriate for residential applications where pets 60 pounds and under are present. When installed correctly, the device will not respond to the movement of pets under 60 pounds. However, it will still reliably respond to the presence of human intruders. This is made possible using the device’s multi-level signal processing. The device also adjusts for temperature to detect the human IR signature at any ambient temperature. With its digital signal analysis, the WS4904P provides consistent detection throughout its coverage area. The device offers a 40′ by 40′ detection range when mounted at a height of 7.5 feet. An internal jumper can be adjusted to switch the device from high-sensitivity mode to low-sensitivity mode. High-sensitivity mode is the default setting, but low-sensitivity mode is recommended for “hostile” environments. To save energy, the WS4904P includes a high-traffic shutdown feature. Upon detecting motion and alerting the system, the device will not transmit any signals to the alarm system until at least three minutes have passed. This way, the device is not constantly alerting the system to the presence of motion. The WS4904P uses a CR123A lithium battery, and it has an average battery life of 9 years.
